The Zionist
Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has admitted to playing a key role in
taking down the YouTube page of the Iranian English-language news
channel Press TV, and revealed that it is also trying to block Iran’s
Spanish-language Hispan TV’s page on the popular social media website.
In a posting on its official website, the ADL has confirmed that only one day after YouTube started the live broadcast of Press TV, the officials of the Zionist group contacted the popular video-sharing website, calling for Press TV’s webpage to be taken down, said Press TV’s Newsroom Director Hamid Reza Emadi.
Since July, YouTube has blocked Press TV’s account four times, prompting the news channel to create an alternative page each time to counter the move, he added.
He said that a recent posting on the ADL website indicates that the Zionist institution also seeks to stop the live streaming of Hispan TV on YouTube.
In its piece, the ADL has termed Hispan TV as Iran’s anti-Zionist media arm in Latin America, warning against the channel's role in increasing Iran’s influence in the strategic region, Press TV’s Newsroom director underlined.
He said the Zionist group also claims that the two Iranian TV stations have taken to YouTube in an effort to bypass Western media sanctions on Iran.
Under the sanctions, several satellite providers have pulled the plug on Press TV and its sister network Hispan TV.
The main reason behind the extensive bans on Press TV and Hispan TV by Western satellite providers and YouTube, which seem to have been imposed upon direct orders by the Zionist lobbies in Europe and America, was the considerable rise in the audience of both channels across the world, Emadi noted.
Emadi said Zionist lobbies, which control the world’s biggest TV channels, have spared no effort to restrict broadcasts by the two Iranian channels, and even pressured the European Union into slapping sanctions against him and Mohammad Sarafraz, the head of the IRIB World Service and Press TV’s CEO.
Since January 2012, Press TV has come under mounting pressure from the US and certain European governments - including Britain, France, Germany and Spain - which have taken measures to restrict broadcasts of the alternative channel across the European Union and America.
The move against the Iranian channel has been praised by the Zionist lobby group, American Jewish Committee (AJC).
